During this daily workshop we invited the audience to participate in the activation of our textile piece. Together we were performing and testing various instruction-based exercises so as to sharpen our sensorial awareness and promote co-responsibility.

Reading with Maxime Selin and Friends
Graduate Maxime Selin facilitated performances on his open stage around the para-academic classroom featuring a reading of jokes, musical acts, a citation of poetry, an actor mocking a spiritual guru as instructed by our postcard, grand speeches and other forms of public talking.
● Collecting Complaints
Performance with The Conscious Canteen
Students Amalie Ourø Jensen, Lente Oosterhuis and Rebecca Cuschera were taking care of visitors through collecting and mapping their complaints about the weather, people not wearing masks, sandwiches in the canteen, performance art and all else that sucks on a Monday.
● Campari Soda Soda Bar
Performance with Jakob Krinzinger
Graduate Jakob Krinzinger opened his Campari Soda Soda Bar offering his signature aperitivo alongside handmade t-shirts and Italian classics in exchange for goods and services as proposed by and negotiated with the visitors.
● Exploring the Garden
Workshop with Rietveld Garden Department
Students of the Rietveld Garden Department guided visitors through their emerging green-space in the courtyard and engaged them in constructing an umbrella from collected willow branches to confront the pouring rain that day.
● The Carrier Bag of Recipes
Performance and Reading with Elena Braida
Graduate Elena Braida relocated her kitchen from the TXT departments exhibition space to the para-academic classroom and served her grandmothers Gnocchi whilst reading from her self-published book The Carrier Bag of Recipes.
● Our New Normal
Reading with Alina Lupu
Alumni Alina Lupu invited Johannes Reisigl to perform her text Day 51 - Art Practice, part of Our New Normal, a series of essays reflecting both developments in the arts and her personal life during times of crisis as commissioned by TAAK.
● Bread Oven
With Florian Lutz, Johannes Reisigl and Jakob Krinzinger
Graduates Florian Lutz, Johannes Reisigl and Jakob Krinzinger heated up the clay oven they have built for the Rietveld community in 2019. Together with friends and visitors they were preparing and tasting fresh loaves of bread whilst facilitating conversations around their previous engagements and the act of baking.
● Thriveability
Parasitic Reading with Kim Lang
Graduate Kim Lang was hosting a parasitic reading of her thesis “Thriveability” in the para-academic classroom. Engaging the audience in active participation and reflection, the group discovered relations between soil, sun and social engagement.
● Dried Fire
Performance with Jakob Krinzinger
Graduate Jakob Krinzinger had been collecting flowers and weeds in the months prior to the show. On the last evening he lit up a fire and invited visitors and fellow students to collectively burn the dried plants as a closing ritual to their time at the Academie.
